The process of therapy is unique to each individual. Through counselling we have the opportunity to learn more about ourselves, our relationships, and patterns in our lives. We can explore the impact of family history and oppressive social structures, and how they may have hampered our ability to be fully ourselves.
Using a client-centred approach and a feminist, anti-oppression perspective, Lainie counsels individuals and couples. She uses her own experiences as well as her personal strength, sensitivity, humour and intuition to support you on your journey of growth and healing.
Therapy may include issues such as:
sexuality, identity and gender
relationships and family difficulties
pregnancy and parenting
grief and loss
spirituality
partners of trauma survivors
children of holocaust survivors
personal growth
trust and self-acceptance
life transitions and stress
The psychotherapy office is located in Toronto, in a warm, comfortable setting, easily accessible by TTC. Reasonable rates are charged on a sliding scale. Services are available in English and Sign Language.
